Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. &
Boy Scouts of America

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Boy Scouts of America have established a partnership for the purpose of implementing educational collaboration and programs that empower and enhance the quality of life for our youth.

Alpha says, “Servants of All.”
Scouting says, “To help other people at all times.”

How Does Alpha Phi Alpha Benefit?

  • Scouting is another program, like “Go to High School, Go to College”, that local chapters can use to help local youths engage with their communities. It also helps them develop pride in their heritage.
  • It’s a practical way for Alphas to empower their communities, build future leaders, and recruit possible future Alpha men.
  • Positive impact on the community, specifically young men, can learn from and be influenced by the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Getting Started

Once a chapter agrees to charter (sponsor) a Scout unit such as a Cub Scout pack, Boy Scout troop, Venturing crew, or Exploring post, the chapter should appoint a chartered organization representative (usually a chapter officer) to serve as a liaison between the chapter and the BSA unit.

The chartered organization representative should then contact the Chief Scout Executive at the local BSA council to discuss the organization of a new unit.

Both the Alpha Phi Alpha Boy Scout Committee and your local BSA council have volunteers available to assist your chapter in organizing your Scout unit.
