Brother Stuart Scott [Mu Zeta, '84], an anchor at ESPN and a cancer fighter, has transitioned into Omega Chapter, Alpha Phi Alpha’s chapter of sweet rest, at the age of 49.
The North Carolina District will host the Omega Service of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in honor of Brother Stuart Scott.
Please note the following details regarding the services:
Please come in Alpha attire: black suit, white shirt, and gold tie. Please note that only properly attired Alpha brothers will be allowed to actively participate in the Omega Service. Members will gather at 6:30 p.m., near the church entrance. Brothers of the leadership team will briefly review the order of our Omega Service. We will line up and have an Alpha processional into the sanctuary promptly at 7:20 p.m. There will be assigned seating for members of the fraternity. It is imperative that we adhere to the schedule and respect the wishes of the Scott Family. Let us strive to deliver an Omega Service representative of the exceptional contributions that Brother Scott made to our fraternity, the media, and the nation. If you cannot make it to the Omega Service, please pray for the family of Brother Stuart Scott. It is because of brothers like him advocating for our communities that we are in fact the College of Friendship, the University of Brotherly Love and the School for the Better Making of Men.
